[00:00:00] Speaker A: Go out to la Comin from the
[00:00:03] Speaker B: city where no pity is. Shell.
[00:00:04] Speaker A: Shell.
[00:00:04] Speaker B: Somebody need to do a song for la.
[00:00:06] Speaker A: Straight up.
[00:00:13] Speaker B: Hello, my name is Elaine, and I'll be your tour guide through South Central Los Angeles.
[00:00:18] Speaker A: Look, count my nose. Smoke up. I'm from California.
[00:00:22] Speaker B: Where you from?
[00:00:23] Speaker A: So what? I'm from California. California. California. California.
[00:00:29] Speaker B: This is Los Angeles. Well, where we going?
[00:00:31] Speaker A: West.
[00:00:33] Speaker B: Oh, girl said if you half of the that I think you are half.
I'll be every kind of woman you want me to be and then hold double back and see every kind.
What the boy say?
I would have held my composure. I wouldn't have just folded like that. I would have did the same thing. Just act cool in front of one ass. And then later on that night, I had that whole turned upside down. Do you hear me? You understand me? You. We've been she with one door closes, another door open. And you never know who's scoping for real. We be flies. The pig in the wig ain't talking about as flies. A pig in a wig you did would have turned into bishop magic. Done one around this.
That's all. That's all, Leonie. You know what I'm saying? Like somebody to really show. Hey, look, I'm putting myself out there. I want you. I don't care how it sound, how it look, I give a. I make, you know, off top, I want you, got to have you. You understand me? Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
First of all, I'm tripping.
[00:01:46] Speaker A: Hey, hey.
[00:01:46] Speaker B: If I get approach quick story time. Quick story time. This episode ain't even about to be that long, but this is a. This is a learning lesson right now, okay?
Hey, the way I met Marcy, like I met Marcy, we met each other when we was 18 years old, okay? This was after high school. We never met each other in high school because we went to rival high schools.
Sure, I might have been at one of the games when we played against them, and she probably was at that game. She was a cheerleader, so she probably was there, right?
But she went to Dorsey. I went to. I went to Fremont.
Now, we met each other when we was 18.
I got her number. I didn't get her number till, like, the college years, which technically is 18 too. But no, I didn't get her number until later on. And I got off of MySpace.
And I got it off of MySpace, player nigga.
When we first got together, she came to visit me the day after my mom passed away. The very next day, my mom. I mean, the Very next day, after my mom passed away, she came, but she stopped on the way going into work. At the time, she was working at Target, and she was going into work, she had on her khakis, you know, and she stopped by to come see me. I did not want her to use my bathroom at all. Nigga, you know, we got. It's.
[00:03:20] Speaker A: It's.
[00:03:21] Speaker B: It's. It's three niggas that stay in that house. Three.
Well, my little brother was. Yeah, it was three niggas. Three niggas.
And, you know, our mom just passed away.
Like, the bathroom wasn't in the best shape. It wasn't crazy or anything like that. It was still usable. Like, you know, but we just. When a fine woman want to use your restroom, you want that shit to be top tier or whatever. But she had to use. She had to pee. She had to pee, pee. And so she was gonna use the restroom or whatever. She used the restroom. We hugged it up, talked for a little bit, yada, yada, yada.
She will tell you, by the time she hit the corner, I sent that text. But I shot my shot first, right now when she. She then shot her shot back at the shot, though. That's why I always respect her. That's why I love her.
Because I was hesitant on the relationship at first.
My mom had just passed away. I got a crazy baby mama, like, low key. That's. It's hard to. That's hard to balance, you know what I'm saying? And I didn't want to. Obviously, the people that you love and you care for, you don't want them to be involved in none of that shit.
But Marcy shot her shot back, nigga. Double barrel shotgun. She was like, look, you got shit on your plate, I got shit on my plate.
Let's put it all on one plate and eat at it together. I said, nigga.
I said, nigga.
[00:04:49] Speaker A: What?
[00:04:49] Speaker B: So that was her. That was her Dara moment. And that's what this episode is about. We sit up here and we watch all these motherfucking gender wars year after year. It's something new with something different year after year. The basis of it is trust, cheating and shit like that, right?
And it's like these out here lying to the women. The women out here lying to the nays or whatever. And then you got the good women dealing with the bad man. You got the bad man dealing with some bad women, and they spoiled now, you know what I'm saying? Are they riding and they want. They want revenge? Are they treating people how they got treated and it's all a game or whatever. This particular episode. And at. At the time, it was only, what, three or four episodes? Like, I think. Did this happen in the third or the fourth episode?
I think it was the fourth episode because, hey, I'm looking at it. And she got the draws or Leon got the draw. They both got draws. But she went after. You know, how y'.
[00:05:49] Speaker A: All.
[00:05:49] Speaker B: Y' all so stuck into. And when I say y', all, I'm not talking to all women, because apparently Dar is different from. From y'. All. So we set her to the side. She's part of the 1%.
So I'm not talking to the 1% of women out there. I'm talking about the women who make these excuses up or have been hurt too bad. So bad that they just don't want to dip they toe in the water anymore. That. That look, that's something between you, God and your therapist. But what I'm saying is, if you know for a fact that you want to be in a relationship and you want to be out there, like, that's what you're looking forward to, but you don't want to be rejected or you don't want to look stupid or something like that. Hey, news flash.
We had to go through that. And it ain't no gender thing when it comes to rejection, okay? We just had to deal with it more. Men have to put themselves out there time after time after time. And I know some of these niggas ain't got no game or whatever, but the point is, they still had to go out there. They still had to put their best foot forward. Whatever foot that is, they had to put it forward, and they had to face the possibility of being rejected.
I've been rejected plenty of times before, okay?
So what I'm saying is, go after what you want, you might as well try.
And that's what she did. And she did that in front of. In front of his ex.
And you notice when she pulled that, when she. When she started. When she started dropping in bars. You notice how Wanda started rubbing that Leon's shoulder?
Hey, that clip went viral.
And you know what? This is what I hate, though. This is what I hate. And before I get to that part, I just want to read. This is definitely not about looks or color. It's about a black man relishing in appreciation, being wanted, someone verbalizing their longing for them in public.
Men don't normally say.
They don't. They don't normally say. They. They want people to vocalize Their longing.
Maybe they, they. They never knew they wanted it until it happened. Or they say it happened. There's so many layers to unpacking this scene alone, but the comparative narrative ain't one of them. That came from Gail being herself.
Okay? That came from herself. And you know what's dope about that scene? And you know what's dope in general?
They are knocking these characters out the park to the point where they are getting. They getting fans asking them real life episode questions. You know, this, this reminds me of the Walking Dead. This reminds me of power. The first, the first couple of series of power. You know what I'm saying? Like what other big one? I mean, maybe even Game of Thrones, but I never really heard argue over that. But I'm talking about as far as our open urban shows, like, is real life mad at a lot of these characters or whatever? But that's because the acting was so great. These two women are beautiful. For y' all to keep bringing up this light skin versus dark skin, that getting old, that is getting dead old. Because guess what? Both of them are fire.
Both of them are fire.
You know what I'm saying? And, and as much as the Will want Dar want Wanda too.
So don't even. Y' all gotta stop doing this. Y' all have to stop doing this. It's getting old. And it's a lazy excuse. A lazy excuse to start an argument about the reason why a got appreciated in front of his ex who has been ducking the since the first episode and then want to pull a curveball. This is. And only the women. I've seen only the women do this.
Well, you know, a guy has said it, but he kind of likes the same thing women like. I mean, it's the truth. I'm just saying. Yeah, I mean, if y' all follow me, then y' all know who I'm talking about, because he is. He. He's a. He's from LA or whatever, but he doesn't really care for the darn character either. And that's it. The reason why y' all don't care for her is because y' all want Wanda to win. We all get it. I won't Wanda to win. And if you really not understand TV shows, you know that Dara might not make it that long.
She is going to be one of those characters that's not going to either make it out of this season or the next one.
She's not gonna make it.
It's going to be one of those emotional deaths, those shocking deaths. It's going to happen.
So you don't have to feel so defensive when it comes to Wanda.
You know what I'm saying? But here's one of those. Here's one of those lazy points that they point out when it comes to Dara. Oh, Wanda car in the bathroom sniffing some of that book of sugar. Guess what we call Wanda doing all that plus crack and giving some. Some sloppy toppy in the dope house.
So what are we talking about here?
Y' all forget, huh? Y' all forget who Wanda. And I hate to do that because I'm on Wanda's side when it's like, I got my life back on track and I'm trying to push this music. Well, when y' all throwing lazy low blows pause at Dar is like, y' all just mad cause she cute and she light skinned with the eyes. These. These are the same eyes DJ Quick was talking about. Okay, like, don't do that.
Don't do that, dog. I hate that y' all play this colorism shit. It ain't about that because y' all could have switched it.
[00:11:29] Speaker A: You could.
[00:11:30] Speaker B: You could have switched these women around and we would have been. I would. And Wanda could have dropped those bars. But it didn't. It just didn't happen like that. It just didn't happen like that. And. And the reason why a lot of men have been applauding and sharing on this, just this scene alone, is because it's telling you something stupid.
Like they want to be appreciated, too.
It's not often. Just think about, think of how it took off. Think of how it went viral. Think about Gail Bean being approached in an airport about questioning, like, hey, are you gonna go after your man? And stuff like that. Like, that's how serious that scene was. Because men don't get appreciated that often like that. It's very rare, you know, it's very rare.
Some men do. And those men are blessed.
Those men are blessed. You don't hear them niggas complaining on the Internet or in real life at all.
But it's not a lot of them. It's not.
And that's why the men who want that or the man just who appreciated that scene spoke up for the past couple of weeks, for the past couple of, like, hey, I know, I know some of the women that's on the other side of this can't wait till episode five, drop, nigga, so we can get past it. You know what I'm saying? And guess what? It's going to be a lot of y' all sadly cheering for Dar to, you know, to get written out the script, you know what I'm saying? Because, hey, I look again.
There's been attractive women all through snowfall and this series so far, you know what I'm saying? But y' all stuck on. Hey, that lazy ass argument with the light skin versus the dirt. Like it come on the skin, the paperback shit does not. It's not. It's not.
It's not it.
That's not it at all. And it's lazy dog. Like the. The fact that y' all can't see what was dope about this, and y' all want to go straight to what he need to be with one.
[00:13:36] Speaker A: He's.
[00:13:37] Speaker B: Look, I don't know.
[00:13:38] Speaker A: I don't.
[00:13:39] Speaker B: I don't have the script. I don't have the script at all. But I can tell you that they not about to have him in this goddamn.
In this. This. Not just this series, but this show with him ended up with D.
Oh, man, it's not gonna be like that.
You know, either he gonna. Either Leon gonna end up dying or he gonna end up back with Wanda. We know this already, man. We know this already. That's why niggas is not worried about it now. But for the moment, Leon hit.
And he deserved it. And she deserved it. She deserved it for sure.
I'm rocking with her. I'm rocking with. I'm on Dara's side. Dar for President.
At this point, y' all need to take some pointers, put y' all ego to the side and see what she did.
Niggas said, if you have the man, you ain't even got to be full right now. Just give me half of the glass of water.
I'll make sure. And you could tell in that diner scene.
I keep bringing this diner scene up because that's a very important and pivotal scene, too.
You could tell that she had a high pedestal.
All them killers that's around her, they make sure nothing shakes without her approval. And they gotta take care of the money, which she has been raising.
But for that split second when Leon was dropping that street shit on her, that street game, and said, hey, I didn't seen this before. You cute.
You cute as hell, but niggas is gonna drop 10, 20, 30 stacks for one of these niggas in this diner to come shoot you in your head when you not paying attention, just for retaliation.
I've been there before. Niggas said, I've been. I've been around bad chicks. Besides you.
That nigga didn't show no interest in her. There was no eyes, no winking, no. No, no raucous eyebrow.
No, none of that. Then they didn't do that. Nigga was like, nigga, we need to do what he needs to do to get this motherfucking contract signed or whatever. And you get. When she made that remark, are you doing all this for your little girlfriend?
And what did Wanda say?
[00:15:57] Speaker A: X.
[00:15:58] Speaker B: She took it. She went out of her way to say X. Y' all got to start realizing niggas be losing because what they be choosing.
And she chose to be the ex instead of being the girlfriend in that moment, even though they not together, she could. She could have just said nothing or whatever, but because she opened up that door of, you know, we in limbo and stuff like that, Dar is like, look, the way that nigga talked to me, niggas don't talk to me that way. And I love how honest she was in that diner. And I. And that honesty led to her coming out of that strip club saying some more honest shit. She said, I don't know shit about money.
She said that she put her ego to the side, Leon. I don't know about money. That said, you better learn.
She walked right out of that strip club and said, look, I don't know what the y' all got going on, but I like you.
I like you. And if you have to think, I think you are not gonna be everything for you.
And you, fast forward, nigga. That nigga was in there bumping that, bumping that, that track.
And she came over with the walk of shame.
Sweater on or hoodie on?
He knocked that out the frame. And I don't blame him.
I don't blame him. Like, dog, put on a serious note, put your ego to the side.
If you find somebody attractive, if you really feeling them, if you can look past certain things that, you know, that you could deal with, just say it. Y' all so. Y' all so nervous and scared of being rejected or embarrassed in a certain way. Like, I think there's levels of being embarrassed.
You know, you can trip in front of a. A crowd full of girls, bad ones, and you might feel embarrassed about that. And then you can get embarrassed on the Internet, you know, so it's different levels to be embarrassed. But you. You gotta have a good judge of character, though. That's the thing. That's another thing we. We don't talk about is good judge of character. Y' all out here dating these weirdos, and y' all scared to really open up because y' all know the nigga that you date now here will probably put your shit online.
And that's not my problem. That's y' all problem.
Like, you know the women that don't have no problem with going to ig, some of them. Some of them will just flat out put their. The. That going. That post on Facebook, they gonna put your government out there. But the. That post on Twitter and IG is encrypted.
It's Kendrick Lamar encrypted. But they know you see it.
So that's not my problem. This is called life. And y' all about to waste y' all time because y' all scared. Not Dara.
Not Dara.
And that's why she's a fan favorite, at least for the male's perspective.
You know what I'm saying? And I've seen some women online behind Dara because they know what it is.
They know it. And you know what? And even if don't work out, you shot your shot and you got what you got. You got Leon in the barrel. I'm pretty sure she wanted. For the long haul. She wanted. Nigga, she looked like. She looked like, you know what? She would die. Kind of like reminds me of. It's a woman who has a lot of power, but when she gets off work, she wants to be submissive.
That's what she reminds me of.
You know what I mean?
So at the end of the day, I got Dar for President, man. I don't see she didn't do anything wrong. Now, she would have did if you just shot her shot.
And Wanda and Leon is together, and she knows that. Then I switched that from being respected to that's just you a gangster. It's disrespectful.
She just gangstered, you know what I'm saying?
Or if she found out that they was together and tried to do something behind the scenes shit, some sneaky shit, then I can't respect that. And that's my dog's messing up mama my episode. Then I. I can't. I can't respect that type of move. But those two scenarios didn't happen, though, so I can't. Really can't. Really, I can't. No, she won.
She won. Y' all logic behind why she was wrong.
What is wrong?
So go rewatch the episode. Matter of fact, watch all four episodes. Go back and watch Snowfall. Go watch the. Go watch the episode where Leon called Wanda in the dope house and then get back to me. Okay. All right.
