[00:00:04] Speaker B: Shell. Shell.
[00:00:04] Speaker A: Somebody need to do a song for la.
[00:00:06] Speaker B: Straight up.
[00:00:13] Speaker A: Hello, my name is Elaine and I'll be your tour guide through South Central Los Angeles.
[00:00:18] Speaker B: Look, count my nose. Smoke up. I'm from California, where you from? So what? I'm from California. Cal, California. Cal, California.
[00:00:29] Speaker A: This is Los Angeles. Well, where work and if we out bowling and you know, you next, don't go nowhere.
Don't go get no food, don't go get nothing to drink, don't go talk to nobody. You know, you better lock in bowling with 10 people. The worst experience of my life. I don't know why people have bowling parties, because don't nobody be ready to bowl.
Everybody lock in. I got a game to win and that's a fact.
We here. When was the last time.
Hello, beautiful people.
Welcome back.
I'm here to talk about some shit that we used to do that we like. When the last time that, that you did it, you know? When was the last time you made a paper airplane?
Just think about that. A paper airplane.
That used to be the shit, you know. Did y' all used to make the long airplanes, like the, like the Boeing ones with the, with the, with the pointy tip? It was the most simple airplane that you could make. You get a regular sheet of paper, you fold that motherfucking half right vertically, you fold it in half and then you just, you, you.
How can I describe it? Because I make mines the other way. I do all kind of folding. Matter of fact, I'm going to make me a paper airplane after this episode.
Some niggas used to make their paper airplanes with the pointy tips. That's dangerous. You poke somebody eye out, you know what I'm saying? Depending on how sharp that that point is.
Mine didn't do that. I used to tuck, fold all kind of shit. And then did y' all. Did, did y' all put the side.
What would you call that? What would that be called?
So the wings, I used to curve them in a little bit. I used to fold them or whatever. And to me it was just a static. But then in my mind, in my mind, right to me, that's what made it glide.
Because I had a couple of ones just go all the way up to the steps or go on top of the roof or, you know, something like that. Second floor, third floor, and let that motherfucker go.
I used to just glide, you know, just in a little simple competition, you see how far you could throw a paper airplane and Shit like that. But I used to like the ones that used to just fly and glide and shit like that. You got to go all the way to the top of something. Something dangerous or whatever. But you gotta ask yourself, when the last time you made a paper airplane.
It's lovely. Did y' all draw on yours and shit? Like, did y' all really get invested with y' all airplanes? I ain't gonna even lie to you as a person. That drew a lot. I used to draw a lot when I was younger.
I didn't care to draw on a lot of my airplanes. No, I wouldn't invest it like that. I just wanted that motherfucker to work.
And then. Do you ever think about where those paper airplanes is at?
Hmm? They got recycled. Maybe when last time you skipped?
Now that's the thing. That is a forgotten skill set that a lot of adults my age has forgot to do.
Skip. Do you. Do you know how to skip?
Because some of y' all barely know how to jog, but you know, skipping.
Apparently a lot of niggas forgot how to do it. And I don't really see kids doing it. I mean, because they, they this generation. These got this shit called Hilliest where these niggas be running and then rolling like they got built in when the.
They gotta be banned from certain schools. But I be seeing some little.
They be coming from school and they just be running and rolling and shit like that. Like the hilly. That's crazy. It's a cold. It's a cold invention. I'm not hating on it. I think it's dope. But I think that's. That. That ultimately killed the whole skipping dynamic. If you got on shoes with built in wheels in them.
What he's built in wheels in your. In my kicks. My, you know, who knows what the shoes are called?
But I mean, they're made by. I think the company was called Hilly's or something, right? So maybe that's what the fucking shoe was called. But yeah, nigga, you got a fucking tire and at the bottom of your soul. But when the last time did you skip, though?
You know what I'm saying? Skip to my loop. When did you skip? You know, you. And you gotta hit that.
You gotta hit the ground, you get, you know, skip it, man? Like, do you even remember your last day you actually skipped? Was you a teenager? Was you still skipping as a teenager? You was a crazy nigga sung in a shower. Now this is.
This should never stop.
But I do understand that people.
I don't know anybody personally that has grown out of this. But I could see people, you know, not singing in the shower. If. If you're just quiet in the shower, something might be a little bit off. Just a little bit. A little bit off.
If you. If you just mute in the shower. Unless you're on some meditation shit, you know, niggas that pay bills and stuff like that, got kids, we meditate in the shower. But I'm.
Now, I don't listen to music or podcasts in the shower a lot. I have before.
Maybe it was a great topic or a great episode, and I wanted to keep going, so I would put it on one of my speakers and put that shit in the.
In the bathroom. Let it go. You know, my wife, she listens to.
She listens to. She doesn't even listen to podcasts. She'll listen to the podcast that they upload on Facebook and then watch clips of podcasts, and there's just certain podcasts that she listen to with these crazy stories, but while she's taking her bath, she'll listen to shit like that. But when the last time you sung. You wanna know one of my top hits in the shower? It was Joe, all the things.
What? That's it. That's one of the best.
It's top tier. Dirty backing song might be number one of all time, but it's also a top shower song of all time. You know what I'm saying?
Look, I can't point you to the Jet Black sand, but I'm gonna sing that Jet Black sand note in the shower. And I have sung it in the shower when I was young in. And when that song. When that song first hit, Nigga singing it in the shower, singing it. And it's a lot of great shower songs, you know what I'm saying? That was just top tier right there. So, yeah, when the last time. When the last time you sung in the shower?
Now check this one out. When the last time you talked to her on the phone for about an hour or at least an hour.
And the reason why I'm saying that is like a real, real good dialogue.
Not if Zoom is involved. We not talking about meetings. We not talking about a podcast episode.
None of that. When the last time you talked on the phone with just about anybody?
Just talking on the phone with anybody for an hour. Plus, when the last time you did that?
Now, I can honestly tell you, With my wife, that's easy. We can get an hour out the way. We can get an hour out the way, FaceTime or not. Like, it's gonna be an hour it can go. Then there's sometimes when my wife and myself be like, I got nothing, I got nothing. We can't even get to 30 minutes. Ain't nothing to talk about.
So it's very rare nowadays that people are talking on the phone a lot. I mean, it's so many other forms of communication that people forget about just a true Call somebody and just talk to them. And if you talk to somebody for an hour outside of your spouse, right. You talk to somebody for an hour, that conversation is probably cooking, you know, whatever it is, it could be whatever. But a good convo for an hour, man on the phone, you can't. You don't really come by those as much. So when was the last time you talked to somebody on the phone for an hour plus. Huh, huh. Now this one is a doozy. When the last time you pulled up to the drive in theater?
I want to say the first time, the first movie that I've ever seen in a drive in a. In a drive in the drive in movie theater was Batman in 80.
Was that 89? 89. I think it was 89.
Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, Prince did the soundtrack.
I think that was 89. It's an odd number. It's 87 or 89. One of them, though. One of those. I was young, though. I was young for sure when I went in. Yeah, I remember it was. It was popping the drive in movie theater. That's when you gotta go get the speaker, put that. Or it's a radio station. So you either get this, the speaker, put it inside your.
Put it inside the car or train. You got to change it to a certain radio station to. Well, man, that was phenomenal. You just looking out the windshield or for you niggas who had. I've. I've watched movies from a pickup truck.
Turn that motherfucker around, you just land, you know, turn it into a little bed. Put a little blanket back there. You know what I'm saying? Drive in. It was bad band. When the last time you've been to one of those? Now I have been to one as an adult. We have taken one Orion kid. I think it was before Bailey was born. We went to go take our son to go see.
Was it Despicable Me or was it Claudia with a chance of meatballs or something like that? It was a cartoon movie. I think it was the Despicable Me, the first one. I think we seen that one in a drive in and I think that was the last.
That was. Yeah, that was the last One, the last one.
When last time you been to a drive in movies? Do y' all still have one, like, in the area nearby, you know, and then the last one.
Yeah, nigga. When the last time you got into a physical fight that you had to get, you know, you had to put hands on somebody, or somebody probably put hands on you, or y' all probably was just wrestling. When the last time you had. Now look at 43. I'm not looking for a fight.
I'm not looking for. Most of the time, I'm not looking for a physical fight. I don't want to fight anybody. I don't want to swing at anybody. I don't want to attempt to choke anybody or body slam anybody or anything like that.
But if you just so happen to get into a scuffle, got to be ready.
When is the last time you got into a fight? I'm trying to think the last time I actually got into a fight. Now, I can't quote the year. I can't. I cannot do that.
If I had to. It is anywhere between, hmm, I want to say 2006 or 7. 2006 or 7 when this event happened, and there's a fellow podcaster that was involved in this, right?
It was at a place called Saddle Ranch. You may have heard me mention that place before on this podcast. There are two Saddle Ranch locations that I know of in Hollywood. You know, one by Universal City, right next door to Universal City.
And then the other one was off of Sunset. I think the other one is off of Sunset. If I'm not mistaken, it's smaller. That went off of Sunset is a smaller one.
But
[00:13:16] Speaker B: that.
[00:13:16] Speaker A: That's the one that I can remember the most. A physical altercation where a fight broke out at Saddle Ranch that I was involved in, but I did not start at all.
And if another podcaster tell you something different, they are a liar. Okay. But it just so happened that we did fight at Saddle Ranch, and that's the. That's the last one. I can't remember. I can't remember another time after that. Not saying that it. That I didn't have a fight after that.
I just can't remember. But if that's the case, let's just say it was. Let's just say it was 2006.
It's been 20 years.
I think that's pretty good. I'm not looking for those altercations.
Nope. Not I. Not I.
And you shouldn't either. You shouldn't either. The thing is, it's still up.
You can get Into a fight any day.
You can get into a fight any day. Now. When the last time you had a water balloon fight?
Them motherfuckers hurt, don't they? And you don't want to get hit in the face or in the head.
Yeah, CTE is real. We not built like that no more. Maybe the 80s, maybe the 70s, and the 80s. Babies is still. We can still. But we're tired. Tired.
We're tired. You know what I'm saying? And we got ptsd. So you hit us with a water balloon, we might turn into a full fledged maniac. I'm talking about, we go overboard with it. We're gonna get water balloons, we're gonna get buckets. We gonna get all kind of. We gonna throw your ass in a pool. We gonna drown. Not. No, I shouldn't say that. We're not. We're gonna dunk you in the water. You're gonna feel like you drowning because we're gonna dunk you just repeatedly and like that PTSD off those water balloons. When the last time you had a. And it's still valid. I had my first snow fight, right? Snowball fight as an adult.
I t. I touch real snow as an adult, right?
That hurt.
That hurt. Okay.
Snow hurt. If you ball that up the right way, don't get hit in the face with that.
Whether it's real or artificial snow. Don't get hit in the face with it. That shit hurts.
Now, this is a crazy question right there. When.
When the last time you took a nap during the day?
Like one of those.
One of those naps? That.
That's just. You don't fight it. You don't. Have you ever. Have you ever took a nap and then you took a nap, like, too long? Let's just say you took a nap for about two or three hours and you woke up just, like, out of it.
Like, n. I slept too long. Two, three hours. Nigga, that's a lot. No matter what day that is, that's a lot.
You know? But that was a good. That was a good night. When the last time you had a nightmare, though? That's the thing. When the last time you had a nightmare? I know for myself there's some dreams.
There's a lot of dreams I can't remember. There's a lot of nightmares that I can't remember, but I do remember certain ones.
I do.
I do. One of the nightmares I don't want to repeat, and I also have sleep paralysis, so I don't think those count, But I do hallucinate While I'm under the sleep paralysis spell or whatever that shit. Have I ever told you, Have I ever broken down how sleep paralysis feels?
Hmm? Do they ever tell you how it feels like? Have you ever seen a video or somebody trying to break it down? Let me tell you my experience of sleep paralysis real quick.
I could feel my body shutting down.
I can jump out of it before it completely shuts down, but if I don't, it's going to be very hard for me to jump out of it. Obviously I'm here talking to you today. That means I'm successful on doing it. But it is a struggle trying to get out now. I don't know if I look funny doing it.
I don't.
That's what I'm saying. No one has ever reported back to me that was next to me. My wife is the closest one, but she don't ever. It's like we haven't done a full research on it. She's just been in the bed next to me, scrolling on her phone while I'm in this shit and I'm like, did anything happen? She was like, it's not really cut and clear. One day we gonna get down to it though, right?
But that's how I feel.
It's a very strong feeling of just a deep sleep. Like my body, I could feel my body shutting down and then it just goes blank or whatever. Now it's a full body paralyzed situation. But I can feel me moving like I'm rocking, trying to kick out of it. That's how it feels, man. Like it's crazy. Then I get out of it. I don't know if I'm making a face or whatever because to me it feels like I'm making like a zombie face. Like my mouth is open and I'm trying to just struggle getting up it to me in my.
The way I imagine it is that I look wild trying to break out of it.
You know what I mean? But I don't know because no one has reported back to me.
I'm going to try with my wife. Yeah, but yeah, when I. When last time you just took a great, A great nap. And then my last one, like when the last time you got into an argument, like a real good one, your spouse don't count.
Married people argue all.
We argue all the time. Sometimes it'd be those. You ever have those playful arguments where like spirits is good, like we happy but we shooting at each other on the low, like those type of arguments, you know what I'm saying? But when the last time you had an argument with a nigga like you? Just. Just differences, you know?
It happens, man. But if you haven't done some of this stuff in a while, you need to do so don't get into no argument, okay? If you need to take a nap, go take one.
Start singing in the shower again. And do me a favor, a you hear this episode, whenever this motherfucker drop, go make an airplane and then post it in your stories and tag me.
I don't know what it is. I don't know when I'm gonna drop this episode. It could be weeks before I drop. I might drop this motherfucker a month from now, but. And I'm probably gonna forget. But if you tag me in a video of you not just making an airplane but flying it, I feel like I'll remember. If not, I'm gonna think you just batshit crazy and you was just wanting to do something crazy, you know what I'm saying? Anyhow, just go do it. Last time you just want to go do some stupid.
