[00:00:00] Go out to la. [00:00:02] Comin from the city where no pity is. Shell. Shell. Somebody need to do a song for la. Straight up. [00:00:13] Hello, my name is Elaine and I'll be your tour guide through South Central Los Angeles. Look, count my nose. Smoke up. I'm from California, where you from? So what? I'm from California. California. California, California. This is Los Angeles. Well, where we going? West? [00:00:33] Yeah. King J. Look, man, I'm not, I'm not here to. I'm not here, I'm not here to say anything negative about south beach, all right? I was in South Beach, Miami, not too long ago. 24 hour trip, soon as we land, humidity out the gate. [00:00:57] What, there was no proper clothes to prepare? [00:01:03] Okay, you go to Miami, south beach, dry fit, dry fit or nothing. Don't take no cotton or take no polyester. [00:01:12] Okay? Definitely don't take no suede. [00:01:16] Okay. Don't take no leather. [00:01:19] Don't take nothing. Okay. [00:01:22] That humidity is going to kick your ass. We roll bikes in South Beach. [00:01:27] That's a milestone. That's a goal right there. You know what I'm saying? Now we know it's not the south beach of old. Just like Vegas is not the Vegas of old. You know, New York Times Square is not how it used to be. [00:01:41] You know, a lot of classic stuff that went down in yo city is not the same anymore. Things have changed. [00:01:49] You see what I'm saying? But still, you know, I'm on South beach riding a bike with my wife to Walgreens. First of all, she almost getting fight. She almost gets into a fight with the cashier. [00:02:03] Okay? [00:02:05] 90, nobody, 12. How nobody talks English? [00:02:09] Nobody, nobody, nobody. Except there was two people that we ran into. The cashier's manager, shift manager, and then the hotel desk clerks. [00:02:25] They were, they spoke English, right? But as soon as we got picked up from. We got picked up by Renee. His name was Renee. [00:02:35] Renee spoke 97% Spanish, 3% English, you know what I'm saying? He picked us up from the airport. Now we headed to. [00:02:46] We headed from the airport and he's dropping us off at the cruise. I mean, not the cruise. I mean, he's picking us up and he's dropping us off at the hotel, right? He's dropping us off at the hotel. [00:03:05] Understand what I'm saying? He's dropping us off at the hotel. [00:03:09] We get, we get in. He got a, like a. I forgot what kind of truck he had. It was, it was, it was enough for us to have our luggage, you know, to, to carry all our luggage, right? He get in There. That nigga don't speak no English. No, he speaking no English. [00:03:27] Right? But he's talking, though, like, he. Not. It's. It. We had our quiet moments, but then it was like. I guess when he was trying to, like, point out stuff. I did get to see the arena, you know what I'm saying? I got to see. [00:03:41] I. I got to see arenas and stadiums and shit like that. On the way down, we did in downtown. Downtown Miami, you know, I saw a lot of water, beautiful. I saw private islands, you know what I'm saying? Like, we. Private islands. We. You can see the private islands from. [00:04:00] From the port. We went to the Miami port. The. The. The famous port, like, is so much cocaine residue over there. So much. So much. But Renee was trying to explain some shit to us about. [00:04:13] He's trying to explain some. I don't know. I don't know if it was about the buildings. I don't know if it was about the soccer team. I don't know if it was about the Olympics. I don't know about the political aspect, but he. All I know is he kept saying. [00:04:27] He kept making that noise like he would point to something you. Like, he'll speak in Spanish. He'll speak. He'll speak in Spanish. And it's like. [00:04:34] I'm like, oh, shit. [00:04:36] And so I'm just trying to go along with it, but it feel like I couldn't. [00:04:42] I just couldn't. You know, I couldn't. I couldn't. I couldn't get the. [00:04:47] I'm actually playing the video game. I'm gonna give you the controller that's not plugged in, so you can think you playing. I couldn't rope a dope him like that. Cause he was, like, literally trying to have a conversation with me, and I'm like, you know, he was like, where you from? And stuff like that. And I told him and stuff like that. [00:05:04] And then he started saying some shit about the freeway. You know, they got, like. It looked like they got a lot of construction going on down there. But all I know is she kept going. [00:05:15] Stepped out that car, brother. [00:05:17] To our hotel, nigga. And they happened to cut off one half of the intro. Cause they had. [00:05:28] They got two driveways, you know what I'm saying? [00:05:31] Well, they got a rainbow driveway. Let's just say that. A Rainbow Hill driveway. [00:05:36] And. But they cut half of it off. So it was one way in, one way out. [00:05:41] And that was because they was repaving it. And the nigga that was repaving it, my nigga, he Is going to. His legacy is inside that. That. That driveway. Why? That nigga was sweating like crazy in that. In that cement. [00:05:57] He was sweating like dog, man. So did we finally get in the hotel? They had this fragrance in the hotel. [00:06:05] Uh, if y' all listen to the latest Joe Budden podcast. [00:06:09] Well, no, I can't say the latest. Cause I don't even know when I'm gonna drop this. But it's definitely. It's definitely episode. When they talk about. They talk about hotels and how important he. He talked about how he hate coming to LA now because of a hotel that they changed and like that. [00:06:27] I'm not sure what else they talked about. They did. Oh, they talked. They talked about the Knicks parade. [00:06:31] That is that episode. But he was saying how important it is when you walk into a hotel, how it smells. And this smell was great. I don't. I have to look it up. I have to look it up. But it smells so therapeutic and refreshing. [00:06:44] Right? They had some fire water in the lobby. [00:06:49] You know, we got there, got to our room, and the room was. [00:06:56] The room was solid. Room was solid. Yeah, yeah, no doubt. No doubt. The room was solid. [00:07:02] Shire was solid, you know, and it had that Miami feel to it. And the AC was. [00:07:11] AC was great. [00:07:13] AC was phenomenal. You know what I'm saying? But it did. [00:07:17] It had a solid shower, bed was comfortable, and it was just hot as hell outside. [00:07:25] And so we spent the day there. Um, they owe for three when it came to food. Now, King James, before you put. You know, you put your dukes up, you get all defensive and stuff like that. They went over three with places that probably. [00:07:46] It was just in the area, you know, I wouldn't. I was only there for a day, so I wasn't trying to, you know, go on my mission. My wife would tell you that any place, any. If we go to another country or another state, I want to go to the hood parts. Now, I know that sounds ghetto and shit like that, but it's. No, it's more. So I just want to be in tune with my folks. So I go to Jamaica. I want to see Jamaicans. I want to go to Jamaican neighborhoods, You know what I'm saying? I go to the Bahamas. I want to go. I want to go to industry, to the Bahamas. Not just the stores, you know what I'm saying? We went to Hawaii. [00:08:19] I drove across the Big Island. I'm in the neighborhoods. I'm in people backyards and shit like that. [00:08:25] Go to Ghana. We in the streets. We in the hood, in accra. You know what I'm saying? We didn't. It wasn't no resort. We was in a hotel and right there was. We was. We was out, we was outside, we was in the streets. And if you don't pay attention when you're walking and got on the sidewalk now, you might fall into a ditch off gp but now we're in south beach and that humidity was crazy. [00:08:52] We, Florida, South Florida and Southern California gotta have just some of the most healthiest motherfuckers. And even though a lot of people move to both. [00:09:06] Both cities to die, you know, they vote. I mean, well, states. They move. They move to California, San Diego and la. And then you go to, you know, to Miami or Fort Lauderdale or whatever. These other cities are in Florida and they go there and retire and die or whatever. But they gotta be physically fit because you're sweating out the gate unless you're not wearing a proper attire. Dr. Miami did a great job. [00:09:35] I saw a lot of Dr. Miamis out there, a lot of his work, you know what I'm saying? Nobody talk English. I'm still on that. You know what I'm saying? We tried to get a bike that first night and we got duped. So we just end up walking. I went to a pizza place off, off. [00:09:56] Off of South Beach. [00:09:58] They. I'm talking to the. To the. I walk up, I'm thinking. I'm thinking, it's a white girl. I'm thinking she just. I'm thinking she like Venice beach white, you know what I'm saying? The aesthetics, how she look? Boy, she opened up her mouth, no speaking English. [00:10:11] So I'm like, yo, let me. Let me get a. I'm going to get food for my daughter. So I got personal pan pizza and garlic knots. Let me get that. You know what I'm saying? With the garlic knots. I want the marinara sauce, two of them. So that's what I order. I order a small, little personal pepperoni pizza. [00:10:30] Some garlic knots. They put. And the garlic knots is like them niggas went to the bag and created everything from scratch and started watching a TV show while it was baking. It damn near took almost 20 minutes for the garlic knots to be done. The pizza was. The pizza came out within like five, less. Less than five, seven minutes or something like that. The garlic knots took like a dub and it had a lot of good garlic on it. It's like, it's. It didn't like, they didn't season it. They just spilled season. It looked like they spilled seasoning on the Garlic knots. Not seasoned it. [00:11:08] My daughter tore that shit up. So I don't. You know, whatever. Whatever. Whatever that's worth. But that was the. That was pretty much strike. That was strike one, then strike two. We went to this place that had, like, seafood and shit like that. And I ordered a shrimp. [00:11:29] It was a shrimp something. [00:11:31] And that shit was. [00:11:33] I mean, I ate it cause I was hungry. [00:11:36] My wife didn't like her, but she ate it because, I mean, we was hungry. They did have a Haagen Dazs right next door, and we was too full. But we said we was gonna go back. We never went back. I'm so mad. They had a Haagen Dazs ice cream store, and they had some wild flavors up in that. [00:11:52] And I'm mad I didn't go back. [00:11:56] That strike too, you know. [00:11:59] And then we go to a restaurant now, and then we in the restaurant, we get seafood. We get seafood in a restaurant. So, you know, we doubled up and we got a lot of attention. For some reason, the way we got our seafood made caused a lot of attention. [00:12:25] Like. [00:12:27] Like was like they was looking at it. So. So the third place we went to was Fogo de Chow. We went to Fogo de Chow and we got the seafood. It's like some seafood thing of just big seafood thing. It costs like $100,000,000 dollars. [00:12:44] Come with mussels, crab legs, clusters, lobster tails, and some other shit. Right? [00:12:53] And we got it. [00:12:55] How did we get it? We got it made. [00:12:57] We got it made a certain way, though. That was the killer part. We got it made a certain way to the point where the whole. Almost the whole restaurant was looking at us like, seriously, you know what I mean? Like, they. I don't know if it's a. That was. This is my first time going to Fogo de Chao, so I'm not sure if we're like Americans and like a French pasta place. And we broke the new. You know, broke the. The spaghetti by accident. No, that's a cardinal sin or what. But the way we got it cooked, there's two ways you can get it cooked. I just can't think of it right now as it's on the menu. And we got it the way that we would think a lot of people would get it. But everybody kept looking at us. [00:13:43] They kept looking. And even the. [00:13:46] The other. [00:13:49] The other workers were walking by the table because you know how they just walk around and keep shedding beef in these niggas and people faces. Paul's, they just be walking around with this. This In a handful of beef and they'd be slicing slices off and rib and steak and shit like that. Right? [00:14:07] And so. [00:14:09] But that is also like a. Like a package or a deal or something like that to get that. [00:14:14] And so we. But we picked the seafood. So we had this big ass se food platter. And on top of that, we wasn't really hungry like that. [00:14:21] So we knew it was going to kind of get wasted. Because once we got back to the crib, I mean the room now you got the seafood. I think I had went and got the pizza. It was either before or after. I forgot, but. [00:14:37] Well, no, it was after. Definitely after. Because I was the fog of each child was the last. Was the last thing. But over three. When it comes to the food that. I'm not saying that Florida has bad food. That's not what I'm saying. King Jern, before you even go there, I'm a Kobe fan too. So I'm rated an 8 because Kobe wore 8. But what I'm saying is the three places that I went to was bad. 0 for 3. King Jerm. I spoke to King Jern briefly. This King Jern, when I called you or you called me, however it went. Because I knew eventually I was gonna have to call and I gotta. And I still haven't called my boy Delvin. And I thought about Delvin soon as I got in the truck with Renee, soon as my family got in the truck with Renee. And he kept going. [00:15:26] That's when I was like, I need to call Delvin. But shit went fast. [00:15:30] And then King J, I think King J actually called me. Although I've been thinking about calling both of them the whole time I was in south beach because they got, you know, they got Florida ties, Miami ties at that. [00:15:42] And yeah, he called me and I was like, real briefly, bro, like, hey, it's hot out here. Nobody talking English and 03 in the food. But I couldn't really explain it to him. And I was riding a bike and it was hot as hell humidity. [00:15:57] And I'm also getting distracted because there's a lot of Dr. Miami's walking around. A lot of them, A lot of them. Lot of lottos walking around with the Dr. Miami work. [00:16:08] So I gotta stay focused. So I'm. I'm riding the bike. It's heated. Oh, and I also got. [00:16:14] I also got alcohol. No, my wife had the alcohol on the back of hers. I had the. I had the case of water. I think I had the case of water on the back of mine. I had like A basket. Because these were bikes that we got that we rented from the hotel. So we rolled bikes to the Walgreens to go get some other. [00:16:31] Go get some waters for not just the flight, but for the cruise when we on the ship. [00:16:40] So we just getting little stuff for the trip and to take it back to the room. [00:16:46] And I had a case of water. I think it was probably like no more than about maybe 12 or something like that. The pack got it from Walgreens. And then my wife had two Prosecco bottles in the back. And I don't know why we didn't swap, because if anybody gonna drop the bottle, it's gonna be my wife. I know when she hear this, it's gonna be like she's gonna think I'm hating. But hating and being the truth at the same time is a thing. But we made it back safely. [00:17:14] But he called me while I had that in my. In my basket. And I'm riding with one hand, which is my less dominant hand. [00:17:23] And it's Dr. Miami's distraction. I was like, bro, I gotta go. [00:17:28] I gotta go. I gotta go. And I meant to call him back before I got to the cruise, but I just didn't. I got lost in the sauce. You know, I get to that in another episode. [00:17:41] But yeah, I think after that. [00:17:48] Oh, we gotta talk about. We went to the pool. Went to the pool. Slash Jacuzzi. We didn't get to get in the Jacuzzi. It was too hot for that. [00:17:55] But I may have gotten in it for a little bit because. Because we got a little breeze. [00:18:00] Humidity still there. But we in a pool. I'm. I'm chilling first. You know, my. My daughter and my wife get in the pool. They in the water playing Marco Polo. And like that. I'm laying. I'm chilling, just looking. This whole family thing going on. I'm just. It's just one of those precious moments. And like, that. We have some other people around, of course, but, you know, I have my family moment and stuff like that day in the pool, kids in the pool, wife in the pool and stuff like that. Then I finally get in the po. We look. I see something moving in my peripheral. It's a iguana. And this. I got a picture of. This is beautiful. It's like a. It. It. I consider it a South beach iguana because it was two iguanas. Eventually, the green one came later. But let's talk about this. Exquisite looking. [00:18:48] That was like. [00:18:50] It was crazy. It was. It was. It was like a orange. It was Like a. [00:18:54] Of. What's that? The Big pop ice cream. Remember the color of that? I think it had a little bit of that in it and shit like that. Some whiteness to it. [00:19:04] But the motherfucker climbed up on top of the flower pot and started eating some of the bushes and leaves and shit like that. And it was just. It was just nonchalant. Nonchalant and moving slow and kind of slow, kind of fast and shit like that. It was behind our chairs, our beach lawn chairs and shit like that. I got pictures and stuff like that. Then in a matter of minutes later, a green one come out, but this, like, own one. This like Bishop and Juice, you know what I'm saying? Like, you could tell that just had an attitude out the gate when he like, what's going up over here? You know what I'm saying? Like, he. Like. His homeboy didn't tell him about the leaves and that he was about to go eat and stuff like that. Because you can tell they was on a prowl for. They kept going. It looked like they was trying to go from pot to pot, but it's like they. I don't know if they don't. They gotta have it in a sight. Or do they remember from muscle memory? I don't know, because they look kind of stupid. [00:19:58] But then. [00:20:01] Then, like I said, it was. It was two of them. [00:20:05] And the way I think. The way it looks. I think the way they looked, like one was bigger than the other. That's why. [00:20:14] And. But the smaller one was a little bit more. [00:20:18] A little bit more feisty, I should say. You know what I'm saying? [00:20:22] It did something later on because I left to go back to the room. [00:20:28] I forgot why. I don't know if I wanted to use the bathroom or something like that, but I was done with being in the water, so I ended up leaving, going up to the room. [00:20:40] My wife and daughter stayed down there. [00:20:42] And she text me that the green iguana jumped at. [00:20:49] Jumped at her. Like, tried to attack her. So it jumped from the flower pot onto the bed. [00:20:55] And then they. I guess they got out of there. I mean, they didn't get touched or anything like that, but it was an attempt. It was an assault, you know what I'm saying? We did not charge the hotel with it. So what's up with that, Delvin? Y' all niggas got just. I mean, we knew about the alligators, the crocodiles, whatever the fuck it is. And I'm pretty sure y' all gonna say, well, that's only in certain areas. Bailey. Got you. Got you. I. I didn't. I didn't think of alligators that much when I was there. I didn't even think of Florida, man, while I was there. But the miguan is damn sure got my. It got my blood and got my blood going for a little bit. [00:21:30] Came out of nowhere. And that first iguana, that was size of a goddamn house cat, man. [00:21:38] That shit was crazy oversized. [00:21:43] Yeah, I think that was. That was pretty much. [00:21:47] That was pretty much it. I mean, we had. [00:21:50] We. We had two more. We had two more drivers after that. We had another guy. We had another Renee. So on our way, our Uber to the. [00:22:03] To the. [00:22:06] To the boat, to the goddamn cruise, we had another driver named Renee. We thought it was the. We thought it was the guy in the morning who picked us up from the airport. But no, this was a whole totally different Renee. And he did speak English. He spoke English, and he was telling us just different things about the World cup and some other things too. It was some interesting things, but I just can't think of it at the moment. But he was super cool, and he took it straight to the. [00:22:33] Took a. Straight. Straight to the cruise. It was chaos when we got there. But we went to the port of Miami. He pointed out the. [00:22:41] The private. They have a pride. They had private islands out there. And we looking right at him, he was like, yeah, you have to know somebody in there to get inside there. Like, you have to be damn near, like, you know, because they got security. It's a lot. It's a road. It's one road inside there. Like, just one road each. I'm not sure how many roads connected to the island, but it's just one long road. You know what I'm saying? Go. You can go in and you can go out, and there's security guard right there at the gate. The. The road is like maybe half a mile long, and then is the entrance to get into the island. And these islands looks phenomenal. The. The. [00:23:19] What you call it? The. The outside like this. I. I got a picture. I got a picture. The balconies is just crazy. She just is sitting in the water. [00:23:31] He says something about DJ Khaled houses somewhere on. He has a private island on there and some other celebrity. [00:23:40] Yeah, so that was. That was interesting. That was interesting. I got to see the arena. I got to see the arena. [00:23:47] They. Soccer is serious business out there. [00:23:51] They not playing around with that. They love them some Messi, or at least Renee did. Renee was with. With Messi, and then Our last Uber driver is the one who picked us up from the cruise to take us to the air airport. This almost got into like two accidents. [00:24:06] And the whatever device he had for his phone to sit up on top of his screen that held. That had the directions on it, that did not work. It did not want to stick to that goddamn card screen. It just kept falling and he kept dropping his phone or whatever. And he was an aggressive driver. Not like. [00:24:31] Not like road race type, but like, and they will slow down at the last minute type. [00:24:37] He had a little pep in his step, had a heavy foot. [00:24:42] I think he cut one person off, but because they were just driving too slow. [00:24:46] But for. It was like the. Was trying to get us to the airport at a certain time, you know, like he was. Like he was racing, but. And they got there at a good time. Oh, the security check on the way back, they had us walk shoulder to shoulder. With who? I walk with my daughter. My wife walked with somebody else. But my. [00:25:07] My. Me and my daughter would walk. [00:25:10] Well, can't be shoulder to shoulder because I'm super tall in her. But we had to walk damn near side by side. And they had a guard dog circle us smelling drugs. [00:25:22] Delvin. [00:25:24] What the. [00:25:26] What the hell, dog? That's y'. All. That's y'. All. TSA my. [00:25:30] They had a. They. They making sure y' all get no cocaina back to wherever we going. They made sure that dog wasn't even sniffing for marijuana because I had. I ain't saying nothing. That dog wasn't for no damn marijuana that was sniffing for that booger sugar. [00:25:47] That's what that dog was looking for. Okay? It's a lot of ghetto ness in that goddamn line. [00:25:52] My God. [00:25:54] My God. There's some ghetto in this. In that line. [00:25:57] But overall, man, I gotta go back. I gotta go back. I gotta at least do at least three or four days in south beach, you know what I'm saying? But the beach itself was lovely. It was beautiful. We ended up going to the beach. I took a picture. [00:26:11] Yeah, it was nice. The. [00:26:14] The. The weather was nice. The beach was nice. They. They had their. They look. They beach patrol be on them four wheelers. Them be zooming, okay, Move out the way before your ass get hit type of move. And they patrolling. They patrol. And I think they extra on one because of the World cup, you know what I'm saying? So it's a lot of teams, and out here, a lot of family members, et cetera, et cetera. That's out here. So they got a Lot of tourists, and we was definitely one of them. One day I seen somebody almost get their car towed and shit like that when we was at Fogo de Chow. [00:26:50] Beautiful neighborhood. You know what I'm saying? The neighborhood. That'd be a great matchup. The neighborhood. The beach homes near south beach versus the beach homes. And there Venice beach or any of our beaches out here. I've been to. I've been to a lot of beaches out here in Southern California, and I've been to the beach homes. They strands and shit like that. Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach. [00:27:13] Beautiful, beautiful.
